Pandion member Headwater Food Hub has merged with Ithaca-based food hub the Crooked Carrot to broaden the reach of both companies in the local sustainable food movement. Silas Conroy, Found of Crooked Carrot, will be joining the Headwater Team as the new Produce Supply Chain Manager, as well as bringing Crooked Carrot's full line of naturally fermented products into the Headwater catalog. This merger expands both companies’ territories in efforts to develop a stronger farmer network and service more customers across the region.
Headwater works to provide restaurants, institutions, and other wholesale customers year-round access to its network of more than 120 sustainable farmers and food producers and operates a consumer-direct local food delivery program, the Good Food Collective.
Headwater is based outside Rochester, NY and services Greater Rochester, the Finger Lakes, Western New York and well as areas downstate. Operations will continue under the Headwater Food Hub name.
