5-Part TV Special Documents Pandion Member’s Medical Mission

Throughout this week, television station 13 WHAM News will feature a 5-part series about the HUGS Foundation, based in Rochester, New York, and its recent medical mission to Guatemala. Both Pandion and Premier Inc. are proud supporters of HUGS, a non-profit organization that provides free surgical care to children with facial deformities all over the world.

Over the summer, Pandion donated medical and pharmaceutical supplies for the foundation’s mission to Antigua, Guatemala, which took place in September. This is part of our ongoing efforts to supply the group with the medical supplies needed for their trips overseas.

13 WHAM News anchor Doug Emblidge and photojournalist John McClintock traveled with them to document the journey where a team of 30 doctors, nurses, and volunteers provided surgery for children with microtia and cleft lips and palates.

HUGS stands for Help Us Give Smiles and was founded by Dr. Vito Quatela, a noted Rochester-based facial plastic surgeon and member of Pandion’s Group Purchasing Organization (GPO).

You can watch this week’s special, A Journey for a Smile, online and on Channel 13 in Rochester New York .
